Changing data in several accounts at once with an import file

Last update: 30.10.2024
The import file allows you not only to upload new users to the system, but also to edit existing ones.

Editing a file saves the administrator a lot of time, especially when he often makes adjustments to a large number of accounts.

You can edit any fields except the LOGIN.
Since it is a link, the system uses it to search for a user on the platform to make changes.

Changes can be made either by 1 or by several fields for each user.

The required field for filling in the template is the username and the field(s) that the user needs to change.

Let's look at an example: You need to make a change to employee accounts.

1. Download the file:

The template contains hints that you will need to delete before uploading.

2. Fill in the file.

For each root group, you can fill in only 1 field out of 3 presented: id, full path or group name. Since employees already exist in the system, for convenient filling, we recommend downloading the export file in advance and copying the group values, logins, etc. there. Or copy the values for the groups in the Settings section.

After filling the data the file becomes ready.

3. Upload the file to the platform:
The option should be enabled: Update user data if they are already on the platform.

Loading errors

If the system finds errors in the file, it will report this by specifying the line and the name of the column. Errors may occur due to text formatting, spaces, groups or users that do not exist in the system, writing Russian letters in the postal address, etc.
Therefore, we recommend taking the data to fill in the groups from the user export file, or from the settings section. Correct errors step by step. Start with the very first lines with errors

As soon as the administrator corrects the errors, you can upload the file again.
